Yes Virginia, there are many bugs with MacTerminal 1.1. Perhaps the most interesting is the one that mis-interprets a certain escape sequence sent by the host to mean "Device Status Request". MT then responds with a status report like the VT100. If you are running on a full-duplex host such as UNIX, and the status string is echoed back to MT, it thinks that its own status request is another request for status (another bug) and proceeds to echo the status string again. Voila, instant infinite loop, and MT locks up furiously sending and receiving its own data. This problem was around in the pre-releases, and unfortunately made it in to the released version. There are a few others such as the infamous non-alphabetic-after-insert/delete-line-gobbler, but thats another story. Personally, I use VersaTerm now at home, but I need MT at work to use the LaserWriter. Then there's the bug that MT always prints in Helvetica or Geneva (which are both proportional) on the LaserWriter so the columns on the screen don't line up on the printout...
