< Is there really a line eater out there? > I'm in the market for a C compiler for the Mac and I'm considering the DeSmet/Ouye development system available from C Ware. If anyone out there has had experience with it I'd like to hear about it. If you can recommend another (preferably cheap) compiler, that would be nice too. Send responses by mail; I'll summarize to the net if appropriate. -- Jamie Painter ARPA: jamie@uw-june.ARPA UUCP: {ihnp4,decvax,ucbvax}!uw-beaver!uw-june!jamie

Northeastern is selling Megamax C for $180 ( + $3 for shipping ). See the latest MacWorld for more info. This is $30 more than DeSmet, but from conversations with both companies on the phone, it seems worth $30. The Megamax people seem to know the Mac quite well, whereas the DeSmet people did not seem to know much. Also, DeSmet has an IBM PC C compiler, and it seems to have priority over the Mac product in terms of enhancements and bug fixes. -- Tim Smith ihnp4!{cithep,wlbr!callan}!tim 1326
