Regarding a note posted a few weeks ago about a SASI/SCSI interface for the Mac, has anyone actually TRIED one of these? According to the poster, DMS Design offers Xebec S1410 software sources and a host adapeter board that plugs into the ROM sockets with one extra wire for $150. He also claimed, >If you have access to cheap hard disks and controllers -- you can have a >hard disk on your mac for less than $500. All this sounds too good to be true. The address for the company was Fastime 464 Marsh St Suite A PO box 12508 San Luis Obispo, Calif 93406 or {fortune, amd, dual, hpda, idi}!dmsd!bass (John Bass). Any positive responses are probably worth posting directly, but you can send me mail if you'd rather (I'd summarize, of course). Actually, there was an article posted in the ARPAnet's INFO-IBMPC about a month ago on just this subject; I think its title, in fact, was "A $500 hard disk". (I don't know anything about the referenced company; just thought I'd point out the article, though, since it was a sort of do-it- yourself hard disk discussion). -- Shyy-Anzr: J.
