Since I snarfed over McAsm and documentation from Sumex, and since no one else seems to be posting it, I posted the following messages to net.sources.mac: McAsm.hqx: PackIt file for McAsm and McLoad McAsmDoc.hqx: PackIt file of McWrite-format documentation for McAsm.hwx McLister.Lst: Examle listing produced by McAsm I have used the MDS system a lot and had hoped to run some comparisons between the two system, especially speed of assembly and linking. However, I have not had time to do so. I hope someone can run the comparison and post the results of their experiments. BTW: one small quirk I noticed. The programs are called "McAsm" and "McLoad", but the "Transfer" menu in them wants to find programs with the names "Asm" and "Load" (as well as "Edit"). I assume "Edit" refers to the MDS editor (which you'll have to get on your own), and I guess that the transfer linkages are followed, but I didn't try. (The REL formats are not compatible, so you can't combine output from the two systems, nor use Apple's provided REL files.) Mark Sherman (mss@dartmouth.Csnet, ...!decvax!dartvax!mss.UUCP)
