I am presently developing a product (a menu-driven data-
base package, no graphics as of yet) for the Mac, but I desire
the program to be transportable at the source level to, say,
an IBM-PC, therefore I need a relatively strict C Compiler,
but also need as much efficiency as I can get. Any suggestions?
I'm curious about pricing. The MegaMax C I can get for
about $180 mail-order, while Consulair C would run about $250.
Is Consulair really worth another $70, or is it simply providing
me with capabilities and looseness that will kill me when I try
to port to a new system? In other words, $180 is a lot more
attractive than $250 if it won't make much difference in compile
time and efficiency of the produced object code.
Other Compilers I've been considering: Hippo C Level II,
Aztec C. Any others I should consider?
Thanks for the help,
Mark A. Steinbacher
