[net.micro.mac] Selling "used" software?

halff@utah-cs.UUCP (Henry M. Halff) (10/10/85)

As I understand the law, there are two cases:

1. You own the software and are therefore bound only by copyright law.
In this case, you can sell the software to anyone you want, but you have
to provide the buyer with ALL copies of the program that you happen to
have.

2. you own a license to the software. In this case, your rights are
governed by the license agreement, which will probably say something
about transferring the license.

I'm not a lawyer and am obviously not going to take any responsibility
for what happens to folk who act on this advice.
