My Mac currently seems to have developed a problem copying a file (MDS Edit) from one disk to another. I have attempted to copy this file several times (from different source disks) to the same target disk. Each time the Mac performs the copy procedure "incorrectly" and finally crashes. When I attempt to copy the file, I place the icon of the file I want to copy on the desktop. I then eject the source disk and insert the target disk. I finally drag the source icon on top of the target disk to copy the file. From this point on, the Mac performs the copy procedure "incorrectly": Instead of displaying the infamous "Files Remaining To Copy" box, the Mac immedately demands the source disk. When I insert the source disk, the Mac reads it for about 5-10 seconds, the screen goes crazy, and the Mac goes belly up. I have used "Mac Tools" to verify the target disk. According to "Mac Tools" the target disk is OK. I eventually (after 8-10 tries) used "Mac Tools" to copy the file. Any ideas? Bob decvax!ichaya!russes ---------
