I just read in the Megamax 2.1 manual that while symbols can be as long as you want, it only uses the first 10 for uniqueness. Does this also apply to preprocessor symbols????? I can't find a specific reference. The 10-char limit, particularly if enforced on preprocessor symbols, is a serious blot on the escutcheon. This compiler is really frustrating to me: the pascal procedures and the transparent treatment of C strings make many things very easy. "short" being 8 bits, short symbol names, non-casified ToolBox calls, and a poor interface for program development are frustrating enough to make me reconsider my opinions. I hope the Megamax people address these issues (the Batch facility, however, does get 4 stars - almost makes up for not having a real Make), as they have a very good start. -Mike O'Dell
