[net.micro.mac] Font editor that works?

Does anyone have a program to edit fonts? The one I have been trying
to use is the Font Edit program from the Apple software suppliment.
I am trying to customize a font with some zero width characters, and
this editor just doesn't handle it. (Also, I am rather tired of rebooting
my Mac after the "friendly" way Font Edit responds to my errors :-).

As a distant second choice, I guess I could use FEdit. Does anyone know
the format of font files, including zero-width characters?

Thanks in advance.

Try REdit 0.5. It has a nice, simple font editing capability. I've used
it to make the Monaco fonts more readable (changed l and 0 so they differ
from I and O). Just open the a font resource in the system file and see...
(REdit 0.5 was posted to the net long ago.)
