Attention all mac owners/users!
I am interested in moving up to a mac but I would like some feed
back on all those little quirks that computers have to annoy users.
Currently I have an Apple IIc , 2nd drive, imagewriter, and apple 1200bd
modem. I communicate to BSD unix 4.2, bsd unix 2.9 and vax/vms. I also use
appleworks, pascal v1.1, etc.
My questions are, is the mac as slow internally as they say it is?
how is the flexibility of jazz? I have used lotus and symphony on ibms
and is it comparable, fast, everything anyone could want?
How is macpascal? Can you write to textfiles and up load them with kermit,
or an analogous program.
Any good or great wordprocessors available ( medium to heavy load wordprocessor lots of medium length documents ( 15 - 20 pages )
Letter quality printing available at reasonable cost? ( recommendations?)
Also any news of upgraded operating systems would be appreciated i.e. will
older macs be able to be upgraded at 'reasonable' costs? will all the softwa
re still work. ( of particular note for me as I seem to have run in to all
the non-IIc compatible software )
-Any replies, any comments on the mac, how they perform, personaly problems
with the mac, hardware incompatibilities or just good old opinions will be
appreciated.....
