[net.micro.mac] Poof ... a useable Mac

Want to know how to make the Mac a usable computer???

Upgrade to 2 meg of ram!

I just finished installing a VOAD 2 Meg upgrade at a total cost of $879
to upgrade from 128k. Just two weeks after dropping my check in the
mail, the upgraded mother board arrived via UPS. It took 15 minutes to
install and it works flawlessly.

Some interesting stuff ... the VOAD upgrade uses the levco ROMs to make the
screen appear at the right place. They changed the mac icon at boot time to
have a pair of fangs. (Kind of cute this close to halloween!) The VOAD
daughterboard has a 68000L10. (I intend to download and run the
benchmarks that were recently posted to see if there was a speed increase.)
Oh, and there is space (and holes) for an expansion connector, but they
seem to have saved some cost by not putting one on. (Strange)

Anyway, having a 1 meg or a 1.5 meg ram disk really makes the machine a
joy to use.

Disclaimer: I only bought the product, I don't represent the company!
