[[[ hello world ... ]]] I have had both volumes of Mac Revealed for a while (a.k.a one month at least) and this past weekend I had a chance to really use them. Over the course of the weekend, I noticed two things: 1. Mac Revealed does not mention sound or sound generation capabilities at all. (It doesn't even tell you that it is covered by IM as it does for most subjects that it does not cover!) 2. For the most part, I had to look through IM to find the info I needed to have. I'm not saying the MR is a waste, but the only redeeming feature is the examples. (But if they don't show you what you want to know, they are also useless!) I my personal opinion, not covering the sound generation stuff is a major flaw. It is one of the areas that IM does not explain very well. I would love to see some programming examples using sound generation and have them explained! -- George Erhart at AT&T Bell Laboratories Columbus, Ohio 614-860-4021 {ihnp4,cbosgd}!cbdkc1!gwe
