I have an S-100 based CP/M system that has a very fast 8 inch hard disk drive that I would like to use on my mac. I currently XMODEM things back and forth, but would like a better way. What I would like to do is write a disk driver that communicates through one of the serial ports to the CP/M's serial board. The CP/M system would take commands for sector read and write, and other calls described in Inside Mac for disk drivers. (That is the way many of the first generation hard disks for the mac worked.) I've never written a disk driver before, so any help that anyone could pass along would be appreciated. (Even if it is to say where I can buy such a program.) On the CP/M end of the hookup, I will be writting a program in C to watch the serial port for commands and execute them. It will use large files to implement macintosh 'volumes', and allow many of them to be open at once. (mounted). Anybody else have a boat-anchor system with a hard disk that would be interested in such a product? (The code could be ported pretty easily to an IBM-PC box, so you could even use your PC/XT hard disk on your mac!!) Thanks Dennis Adams !uwvax!gumby!adams1 USMail: 930 N.
