c Almost everyone I have ever talked to about this has said the same thing: cola is addictive (be it Coca, Pepsi, or other). Not only that, it is unpleasantly so. After the first glass you can feel the toxic effect on your stomach (discomfort) and the rest of your body (an indescribable sugar-ed out feeling). I started drinking the stuff when I got away from the fine spring-water we had at my parents house and discovered that I couldn't tolerate the water delivered in cities and towns. Now that I am back in a place with artesian well water, I am once again drinking water and almost no colas. (he looks around and sees a glass partially full of coke. sorry). A doctor friend of mine says that the body will adjust itself to the amount of sugar that is normally taken in, and you can feel a requirement to maintain this level. Relatedly, I read an article once about induced hypoglycemic reactions, wherewithwhich (?) for some few people, you can eat a large sugary mean for which your body will produce extra insulin resulting in a sugar deficiency a couple of hours after the meal, leaving you dizzy and weak.
