[net.micro.mac] uEarthPlot

peirce@lll-crg.ARpA (Michael Peirce) (12/11/85)

It seems that in my rescent posting of microEarthPlot that the data file
was just too big for a lot of mailers. (I got a dozen or so messages
requesting a repost.)

I could break the data file into two parts and repost them, but I
have a better idea (I think) - the original data file contained
the coordinates in simple ascii text. By storing them in binary I
can reduce the size by a factor of three. This requires a new
program though to read this new smaller data file. STill, I think
it'll be less network traffic to send a new program with a new data
file that's one third the size of the original. (it also let's me
correct a couple of silly little typos in the program).

I'll probably get around to this by this weekend (it's a busy week).
Unless anyone yells at me for this idea (reposting), I'll do it this
weekend.
