It's finally fixed! The dealer replaced the 128K-style GCC Logic Board, when that didn't help he replaced the hard disk itself. Finally, he replaced the Hyperdrive power supply, which ended the intermittent 05 and 04 "logic board" errors. Note that a Hyperdrive Mac has TWO power supplies, the original Apple supply which provides high voltage for the video, and an add-on power supply from General Computer (the one that failed) that powers GCC's piggy-backed logic board. So, if your Hyperdrive starts acting intermittently flaky, you may want to take a good look at the power supply before blindly investing in a board swap. Am I satisfied? No, I had to take the thing back to the dealer four times to get it fixed, and I'm out $370 for the logic board even though the problem was only in the GCC power supply. Final note, I talked to GCC on the phone several times, and found their personnel to be widely varying in helpfulness. I think that this company has a General Motors type attitude problem that a General Computer-size company can't afford, especially given the advent of external SCSI and internal 10-20MB cheap hard drives (MICAH, Warp 20 etc.) ___________________ Ronald A.
