On net.sources.mac I have posted the HQX and (SuMacC) source for a program that sits on the Mac and listens for characters from the RS232 port and sends all of it to the LaserWriter via AppleTalk. It requires the file downloaded to be a PostScript file as it does no translation at all. I.e. it tries to simulate the LW's RS232-port. We have used it for about 3 weeks for regular text (converted to PS by a local program "laser", soon to be posted) and gray-scale-images and some TeX using dvi2ps. It seems to work rather well, but I would really welcome bugfixes and improvements. NOTE: The lpscript program previously posted doesn't work fully as it does too few initializations, which are necessary when your are running in paralell with Macs and LaserPrep. Hope it may be of some use to someone... Anders Hillbo CS Dept, Royal Inst of Tech Stockholm, Sweden PS. Yes, we are working on getting a SEAgate running and have a Kinetics for test, but if you can't afford a SEAgate on all your AppleTalk's then... Also it's a good way of using 128k Mac boards.
