Fractal Contours is a Macintosh program that we think was posted to net.sources.mac in a version written by one Jim Cathey and dated July 14, 1985 (based on a BASIC program by Michiel van de Panne). Our local users group, Washington Apple Pi, ran some benchmarks with the Mac and Mac+ using this program and found the latter to be slower. When Apple Computer, Inc. heard about this they got extremely interested and now desparately want to contact the author.
