[net.micro.mac] Switcher vs. HFS

tecot@k.cs.cmu.edu.UUCP (02/07/86)

Has anyone else had problems using the latest switcher (4.4?) with HFS on an
HD20? I get a crash immediately opening an application using the "Configure
and open..." menu option. Any recommendations? BTW, I am using System 3.0,
Finder 5.1 and I run with a disk cache of 64K. I'll experiment without the
cache; I think that might just be it.

Dear Ed,

I believe that a version 4.6 is out which may do better with HFS. Sorry that
I don't have personal experience with this. GOOD LUCK!!

The latest switcher is 4.6. It has changes for HFS compatibility, including
storing the pathnames to applications in switcher documents. There may be
other fixes as well.
