Greetings - I have used VersaTerm with macput for nearly a year now and I've been able to download anything I wanted to from the net community (thank you all very much.) Now I want to try and take some MacPaint images and ship them back up to my Unix system for processing and re-display on a Vectrix graphics box. Alas, I cannot get it to work. I have tried every permutation I can think of to get things going but each attempt ends the same way - with VersaTerm reporting that the file transfer has failed. I never do see a thermometer - I ask the Unix host to start up macget, I pull-down to "Send File" and then open the desired file. But that's it. Any ideas? I have tried sending both the binhex'd version of the MacPaint file as well as the original - but no dice. I would greatly appreciate info from anyone on this - the version of macget that I have was last revised 11/7/84, is there a later version? Lonnie Abelbeck, are you there? I've lost your address. Can you suggest anything? Thanks in advance - please reply via email - if others need info I will forward same. Cheers... *** Eat this --- You mangy line eater *** Make sure the parity on your UNIX box is set to none and you have CS8 for 8 data bits. Some versions of macget and macput do not set these correctly on some systems. ------------------ Malcolm Duncan Purdue University Krannert Graduate School of Management Macintosh Development UUCP: ...ihnp4!pur-ee!pur-phy!kran!wmd -and- Duncan Communications BBS (a very fine on I might add) modem: (317) 567-2143 UUCP: ...ihnp4!pur-ee!pur-phy!duncan!root
