I found a dealer who would sell Drive/ROM upgrades for $240 in quantity 25. That seemed like a good price to me, until I heard from a Dutch friend that he can get the same upgrade for 400 Dutch guilders, which at current exchange rates is about $150. This is rather surprising, as the cost of the upgrade to a dealer in this country is $178 (after they get their rebate by sending the old drive and ROM to Apple). Does anyone know whether foreign dealers are getting special prices from Apple? In particular, are Canadian dealers selling the Drive/ROM upgrade for anything like my Dutch friend reported?
