In answer to all the questions I got after I posted RamStart version 1.21: Does it work with HFS and Mac+? Yes and No. I got the opportunity to try it on a Mac+ tonight. If you use it in the normal fashion to create a system disk (i.e. system and finder in the same folder with it) it bombs. BUT! If you start it in a folder which does NOT contain a system and finder you can get up to 862K of ram disk which IS HFS. You can then move a system and finder onto that disk, launch the finder and have a ram system disk. Obviously, there is some inconsistency at the point where the ramdisk tries to handoff from the system on the boot disk to the system on the ram disk during boot up. I would assume the author will fix this as soon as he gets a mac+. Meanwhile it can still be a very useful piece of software. -- Jim Budler Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
