[net.micro.mac] TMON vs. Macsbug

blm@cxsea.UUCP (Brian Matthews) (03/03/86)

I've heard various comments on the net about how great TMON is, and how
Macsbug sucks banana wafers (or something like that). I currently use
Macsbug, and it does most of what I want to do, but if TMON is that much
better, I'll buy it. Could anyone who has used both Macsbug and TMON let me
know which they think is better, and why. I'd like to know things like:

  1. What are some things you can do with TMON you can't do with Macsbug.
  2. What are some things you can do with Macsbug you can't do with TMON.
  3. What is needed to run TMON (hardware configuration, applications acting
     "nice", etc.)
  4. Is the interface to TMON better than Macsbug (which has a simple
command line interface, with two character mnemonic commands).
  5. Anything else that makes one better than the other.

If you mail me responses, I will summarize them to the net in a while. Let
me know if you don't want you're responses or name in the summary.

Thanx much for any info you can give me!
