Well, here I've finally received my MacTerminal V2.0 upgrade, and I see that it now support several new protocols. Wellll, I'd just figured out that I could use XBIN/MACPUT with MacTerminal V1 (and that still works if I so choose that protocol with V2), but what do I need to use (from VMS), and what advantages do I get, with the OTHER protocols? Has anyone put together a matrix from their experimentation? Jeff Posted: Thu 13-Mar-1986 12:42 EST To: RHEA::DECWRL::"net.micro.mac"

The new additions to MacTerminal are XModem Text and MacBinary. XModem text removes LF's on input and adds them on output. MacBinary is useful for downloading files from CompuServe and other BBS's that support XModem. (MacBinary in MacTerminal implies XModem).

Using 'macput -u' on a 780 running bsd 4.2 worked and works with Macterm 1.1, but failed to work under the Macterm 1.1 protocol in Macterm 2.0. I just one session using a few different net.sources.mac files with mail headers stripped. Sam Mantel -- Roch, NY
