When I sent him a copy of the benchmark program, Dan Clark at SuperMac Technology sent this reply: We ran it and received a score of around 1300. We verified that the Micah was faster under the test. We have checked out the test and it appears to be fair. My guess is that the speed "increase" is due to Micah's interface (which I believe is different from ours). Happily, since they claim to boot MacWrite in 6.5 secs, and we boot in just under 7, it seems fairly clear to us that the Mac is so CPU bound that we won't see much performance difference between the two drives, at least not before a 20 Mhz Mac shows up! Disclaimer: I am not associated with SuperMac technology in any way. I don't even know anyone who works for them!
