[net.micro.mac] MacWrite Bug?

ins_adsf@jhunix.UUCP (04/06/86)

I've heard of problems with System 3.0. I have a problem with 3.1
and MacWrite. Using my 512K Mac with new ROM's and 800K drives, my
MacWrite will not always print correctly. I suspected that it was an
Imagewriter driver that got messed up while using the outlawed System 3.0,
so I went to my dealer to get a new driver, but still had the same problem.
The file that I am specifically having problems with is the documentation
to Red Ryder 8.0; I did some sample prints of old MacWrite files and they
worked fine. Finally, using old 400K disks with an old System/Finder also
worked fine.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? I of course made new
copies of everything in case something was wrong with the disk media, but
had the same result.

	Thanks.

(Oh, I'm refering to Standard quality printing)

*****Yes, I have seen the same problem. I downloaded the file 3 times to
*****3 different disks and it occurred on each. I am using System 3.1.1 and
*****finder 5.2 even!!! For those of you who haven't seen it yet, the RR8.0
*****documentation file #2, ALWAYS causes MacWrite to display an I/O ERROR
alert while reading the file using a new system and 800K drive (HFS format)
*****Really strange!!!!!!!!
