Lately I have noticed a number of packages and desk accessories that don't take care of their update events before doing their disk I/O. This leaves the screen with a large blank patch for the time it takes the program to complete its disk I/O. This looks horrible. Is this caused by careless programmers or is it that the disk events must be taken care of before the screen events or what. thanks Shaun ARundell .. seismo!munnari!sauron!shaun

Could you give us some details (which packages/DAs/etc) of this? If you mean when programs use the standard file package, then, yes, I have noticed this. /* Jason Haines * ElecEng Undergraduate * 73 Davidson Avenue * Concord NSW 2137 * AUSTRALIA * * STD: (02) 73-4444 * ISD: +61 2 73-4444 * ACSnet: baron@runx * CSNET: baron@runx.oz * ARPA: baron%runx.oz@seismo.css.gov * JANET: runx.oz!baron@ukc * UUCP: {enea,hplabs,mcvax,prlb2,seismo,ubc-vision,ukc}!munnari!runx.oz!baron */
