Has anybody noticed that programs to edit file Finder-Attributes no longer work on the MacPlus. SetFile (I'm still using it from Newton's Sampler) can no longer open files at all, MacTools bombs on accessing the "protect" bit, and FEdit 3.05 lets you try and change the bit settings but the changes don't stick after closing. What's happening here? If there's anyone out there thinking of writing and posting a new SetFile application now's the time. -Wolf-

Well, my favorite attribute-editing program works on the Mac Plus. Try the Get Info feature of ResEdit on a file. By the way, I have heard rumors of extant copies of ResEdit as new as 1.0D11! Also, I have heard some folks at Apple Tech Support and Software Tools talking about releasing the source code to ResEdit as a very advanced sample program. It does lots of interesting things -- at least three tech notes were written based upon things that were done by the authors of ResEdit. -- Darin Adler ...!ut-sally!ut-ngp!ut-dillo!darin
