By now a lot of people have upgraded their Macs to Mac Pluses. What's the scoop? Is the extra memory, SCSI port, 800K disk, and ROM worth the cost of the upgrade? Are there any dealers who discount the upgrades? For those with third-party upgrades to 512K, did you have any trouble getting dealers to upgrade your Macs? Every dealer I've talked to in Connecticut has essentially refused to upgrade my Mac until I've told them that the Apple press release had specifically permitted this, at the same cost as for a 128K machine. dann

Bay Area Mac User Groups have secured discounts on ROM/800k upgrades. The list is $299, and they have been going for $225-$240 in groups of 10-25 orders. Not as many people want the SCSI/1 mb. board upgrade, and I have heard of no discounts there. As for new Macs, Apple sold about 23,000 Mac+'s and 9(?)000 512K's in February. So the fat mac doesn't look so fat anymore.
