The "Poor Man's Search Path" is described in TechNote #67 and #69. When an ioDirID is 0 then the following directories are searched by PBGetCatInfo: the directory specified by the ioVRefNum (or the default directory if 0) and then the "blessed folder" (directory having the Finder and System File.) I distribute the TechNotes from Apple (posted to Delphi) to both INFO-MAC and Usenet. In order to keep the message traffic of net.sources.mac low, and to get the TN's into the hands of people that REALLY want them, I have started a distribution list. If you want the TN's then find your CLOSEST site on the list below and ask that person, DO NOT ASK ME. The current list basically covers all corners of Usenet. If you feel a corner is NOT covered and YOU are that corner THEN you may ask to be added to the list. Being added to the list means YOU have the responsibility to answer requests from other people who are close to you. packard!ihnp4!ihuxo!pvp@topaz, mcvax!frankk@seismo, russes%cygnus.DEC@decwrl, davidk%amber%dartmouth@csnet-relay, gkloker.toronto@csnet-relay, seismo!cvl!tk@topaz, bill@nyu-alaya, ihnp4!cbdkc1!gwe@topaz, fine%psuvaxg.bitnet@wiscvm.arpa BTW, the lastest set of TN's were sent to these people last week.
