[net.micro.mac] Dead Mac :

hobbit@ecsvax.UUCP (Derrell Piper) (04/21/86)

Help. I turn on my brand new Mac+ and it continually beeps at me.
No frowning Mac, nothing. Just beep, beep, beep. What have I done to
it? I presume it's failing some sort of internal test. I should mention
that after building a cable so I could attach it to my modem, I fried
two modems last week. I think my cable was a bit flakey :-).

Have any of you folks experienced this?

Try checking whether the interrupt button (the rearmost button of the
programmer's switch) is stuck. This might cause the symptoms you describe.
I thought my new upgrade was dead the other day, and that was all it was!
