jnp@daimi.UUCP (J|rgen N|rgaard) (04/08/86)

If anybody has got FEdit 3.05, would they please mail me if they
are willing to (re-)mail me a copy. Unfortunately I've lost
mine !!. By the way is the author delivering FEdit by now, I remember
some trouble getting the paid-for version mentioned on the net ??

				Thanks in advance

I sent Mitchell a check in early January. Aside from a promptly cancelled
check, I've gotten *nothing.* No update, no acknowledgment.

This does seem to be a problem with John Mitchell. I paid in September or
so and have heard nothing. I now have version 3.6, which I'll be happy to
send to anyone (I'm a little leery about posting it, however, as it is
supposed to be 'For authorized users only', yet when there is no means of
distribution, how are the authorized users going to use it? Oh well..).
Has anybody had a good experience with Mr. Mitchell??

I got a copy of Fedit 3.5 off a bulliten board!!!! I haven't bought it, so
I don't use it.

Send me a mail message, I will send you the phone number of the BBS with it on
it.

Well, also at the Chicago MacExpo was FEdit 3.7 (you know, one of the
versions for 'Authorized users only'), for sale on one of MacTutor's utility
disks. Boy, I could kick myself for not buying it. I'm getting more than a
little frustrated with Mr. Mitchell. It's apparent that he doesn't read his
mail (unless there's a check in there). Does anyone know how to reach him on,
say, CompuServe or Delphi or GEnie? I would think there are a number of people
who, having paid their money, would like to get something for it. This person
gives a bad name to the concept of shareware.

Working here is like being in a nightmare. You'd like to get out of it, but
you need the sleep.

At the place where I used to work I convinced management to cut a check
to buy this program because we were having constant problems with Mac
software eating disk files during things like save operations. A systems
rash friend of mine showed me Fedit and I thought this might have been a
good way to try and save some of these munched files.

Because of the reasonable 'price' and my wanting to encourage this kind
of software, I decided to mail a check to Mr. Mitchell, expecting a copy
of the program and some updated documentation.

It's been about 6 months or so and nothing. Anybody out there know
where this fellow lives?

Hear Hear Hear. This SOB won't even answer complaints sent via Certified Mail!
Let alone actually send the missing goods in response to same. I am considering
trying a small-claims court action locally, though I know it won't do me any
good in terms of delivery on promises. . .
