I'm going to be making a cable for so a friend of mine can connect his
Mac Plus to his PC/AT via RS232. I got a cable pinout a while ago from
the store down the road (via Apple, dated 3/10/86), but I'm wondering
if there's a better cable floating around. (This one doesn't do modem
handshaking correctly.)
Post responses directly to me and I'll summarize about a tested cable!

Mini-8 Pin # DB25 Pin #
------------ ----------
(shield) 1 Protective Ground
4 7 Signal Ground
3 2 Transmit Data
5 3 Receive Data
2 5 DSR
1 20 DTR
Mini-8 pins are numbered: On my cable:
6 7 8 1 = red 4 = yellow 7 = brown
3 4 - 5 2 = white 5 = blue 8 = grey
1 2 3 = black 6 = green
Mini-8 to Mini-8 cables can be had for at most $30 from your friendly
neighborhood dealer, and ruthlessly cut in half.
