At Last! Telecom have come through with flying colours at the 11th hour and
59th minute.
MacBBS will be on-line from Monday 19th May 1986.
Interested persons may call up and obtain visitor status and then apply for
a full member status. Visitor status means you can just look around and not
much else. MacBBS has been setup initially under MouseExchange BBS software
until I get the 'real' MacBBS fully written and debugged. There will be no
membership or joining fee for MacBBS but members are encouraged to contribute
towards furthering the system by any small donations. (All records kept and
brownie points & other priviledges available.)
During the its' first week or two MacBBS will be up and down quite a bit due
to a lot of fine tuning etc. So if you call and get no reply or a human
answers the 'phone - don't panic.. be patient. Also there will be a special
time period (as yet to be decided) when MacBBS will be offline to allow me
to access other BBSs and services so that I can get hold of the sort of
information and other things you folks would like.
Feel free to mail requests for certain PD software to SYSOP on MacBBS or to
myself here at RUNX, if it's available and I have it ( and I'm sure I will )
then I will endeavour to make it available to you. Also drop me a line to
say what you do and don't like about MacBBS and what you would like to see.
It's your system so it's up to you to help make it the best! ( apart from RUNX )
