Hi there. I'm one of the (few?) unfortunates still living with a skinny Mac. It's no longer also single-drived; I managed to pick up a used 400K external drive a month or so ago, and the difference in the way I use the machine is amazing. I almost never have to swap disks, and I love it. But I still run into memory shortages. The Finder hates me often. I'd like to fatten my Mac as cheaply as possible, and wasting as little money as possible with an eye towards future upgrades. That is, right now I can afford to go to a 512K old ROM mac, but soon (6 months?) I hope to get new ROMs, new drives, and a lot more memory (either Mac+ upgrades or a Levco job.) Can I get anybody's upgrade to 512K and avoid some of the "Mac+" upgrade costs? Or is my third-party-fattened Mac still considered a skinny Mac by Apple, so I have to pay the extra $200 or whatever in the logic board upgrade? Please reply by mail and I'll summarize later. Thanks, chris
