Remember, Verbatim had those "impressive" refund incentives around the end of '85, beginning of '86? something like $5 for buying 1 box, $10 for 2, or another box for buying 2 (or was it 3?) Well, if you are like me and many others around here, you bought several boxes of disks, mailed off for the refund, and never heard of the matter again. I was just recently reminded of this when someone commented that he had received the wrong disks and called them to get that rectified. Others had never received anything, and an informal count indicated that only about 50% of those that mailed for refunds ever received anything. Seems as if the company (Clearing-house) handling this promotion for Verbatim couldn't handle the traffic for one reason or another, and simply dropped a lot of requests "on the floor" The fix: call Verbatim at 1-800-538-8589 and complain. A lady named Sandy Austin promised me to have a Barbara Andrews (in charge of such matters) look into the matter and get back to me. From what I hear, this will get you your refund. Of course, can hardly remember when and how much I sent off for, but I know that I am waiting for, at least, 2 boxes. Given that Verbatims are the most trouble to use double-sided (lots won't format) I am tempted to use them as bookstops and paper-weights when/if they ever get here.
