From 19 May 86 Infoworld:

o Apple is close to finishing its "open" Mac and may begin beta
testing the machine within 60 days. Prototype boards are already being
tested as are large-screen monitors. Engineering models have used
12-inch monitors. Sources also say Flat Mac is still alive and could
be delivered as early as 1987.

The two Macs may benefit from Andy Hertzfeld's Servant, a replacement
for the Finder. Sources say Apple has given its systems development
team 60 days to come up with an alternative to Servant, which may allow
limited multitasking. Andy was supposedly paid over $100,000 by Apple
for Servant.

o Monogram will drop copy protection from all versions of Dollars and
Sense. Current users can upgrade to the new version for $39.95.
