I recall seeing an article in which someone claimed to have removed some of the resources from system 3.X to make it smaller. Apparently many of the resources in the new system are there to make it compatible with the old ROM...why should those with the new ROM carry around all those extra resources? Which resources can be safely removed?? How small can the system be? I found that 3.1.1 is about 70k when all desk accessories and all fonts but the privileged 4 are removed. Does anybody know if Apple is going to release a Mac+ version of the system, that is indeed smaller? I have seen a beta test version of 3.2 (e.g. 3.2b4) and it isn't any smaller!! Jim Meiss ut-ngp
