[net.micro.mac] Mac Rumors

This is from the 11 November 1985 "Computerworld":

"Apple Computer, Inc.'s engineers are said to be
busily readying products for the traditional un-
veiling at the firm's January shareholder's meet-
ing. Sources point to a Turbo Mac, which is reputed
to be the Macintosh XL that Lisa never was, along
with a Mac with 1M byte of memory, a larger (14-in.)
screen and even higher resolution.

But the intriguing item in the works is Apple's
"true" portable (not an Apple IIc), which may not
be ready in January but is certainly getting a big
internal push."

From the December 9, 1985 "COMPUTERWORLD" newsweekly:

"TOP OF THE NEWS"

Apple Computer President John Sculley reportedly
said last week that future Apple products will use
the AT&T Unix operating system. Sculley made the
comment when he was questioned by reporters outside
a Silicon Valley forum, but the company refused to
confirm the report. "It may or may not be true.
I have no way of knowing," Apple spokeswoman Linda
Merrill said. Anticipation is building for Apple's
traditional product unveiling at its Jan. 24
stockholders meeting.

I have heard from a friend that he is ready to sell his mac
as he will be getting a new different mac within a few months.
According to him it will feature:
1. A 42M internal hard disk.
2. A larger resolution screen.
3. 68020 processor.

Does anybody know if this machine corresponds to that of
the rumors about the Open Mac. Any more details?
I have been putting of my decision to purchase a Mac for
quite sometime due to the uncertainity involved with
all these changes and new machines.

He also said that it would be possible for developers to get
the Color Mac (Jonathan?) in a few months.

Roland.
