As many have requested me to do I have posted version 9.2 of RedRyder in net.sources.mac. This version has many enhancements over the previous versions. At minimum you will notice that throughput has improved immensely. Also many bugs have been fixed; even though, I have noticed several new bugs, and several which have not been corrected -- even though this probably makes them features. The program now works with the MacBottom hard disc without problems. This version is HFS/128KROM compatible. New is the ability to right even more complicated procedures and macros. Now you can define your own menus and dialogue boxes in your procedure files. Please read the portions of the documenation re: registration. This program is not freeware. The posting is in 5 parts: Part 1 is a binhexed copy of the application Part 2 is a nonbinhexed copy of a text file updating the documentation to version 8.0 of Red Ryder. Part 3 - 5 are parts 1 -3 of the documentation to version 8.0 of RedRyder. Each of these parts should be binhexed separately and MacWrited separtately. Cutting and Pasting of the files is not necessary use of Packit-II is not necessary. -- ---- David Whiteman, University of California, San Diego

Don't try to write a Remote Service Procedure (login script) which uses the ONPANIC command to time out if it doesn't get an expected string. ONPANIC doesn't work due to a bug in this version of Red Ryder. It may even crash your system. There are some other bugs, mostly in the procedure language, but this is the most serious.
