Oklahoma City Apple User's Group NEWS RELEASE

The Oklahoma City Apple User's Group (Oaug) will host "AppleFest '86,"
Saturday, June 28, from 9am to 6pm at The Omniplex, 2100 NE 52 in
Oklahoma City. 

AppleFest began as a User conference.  The initial Idea was for all of
the users in Oaug to get together in the Omniplex and show the world
what we can do with Apples.  When Apple Inc. got word of this show they
encouraged us to invite software publishers, hardware developers and all
of the user groups in our area.  The AppleFest Idea has quickly grown
into a major regional Apple computer show.

AppleFest '86 is an open house where active users, publishers and
manufacturers alike will display Apple computers, software and
peripherals to the public.  Included in the displays will be hands on
demonstrations designed to involve the public.  There will also be films
and lectures for all levels of computer users.

  The Omniplex is allowing the Oklahoma City Apple User's Group to use
its main Exhibit hall, class rooms and theatres from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, June 28.  At 7 p.m. the club will have a Banquet at the
Sheraton Century Center  with Chris Espinosa, representative of Apple
Computer Corporation as guest speaker. 

      Chris Espinosa is from the Apple corperate offices in Cupertino
California.  He is Apple Employee #8, is 24 years old and has worked at
apple for 10 years.  He lived down the street from Steve Jobs in
Cupertino Calf. and began working in Steve Jobs fathers Garage soldering
chips on the origional Apple 1 mother board.  His offfical title is
Operating systems Mangaer.  He is directly responsible for Macintosh
Finder and System,   Apple ][ Disk operating systems (Dos 3.3 and
ProDos) and atteant programs.  He was an origional member of the Apple
Macintosh Development team and edited the manuals for the Apple //e and
the Macintosh.

AppleFest is open to all Apple owners, dealers and third party  software
and hardware developers.  There is no charge for booth space.  Tables,
chairs and power outlets will be provided for all exhibitors.  More than
150 Apple users and ebibitors  are expected to display their computers
and more than 2500 potential Apple'ers will attend.  Anyone interested

The Omniplex Science and Technology Museum was founded in 1958
and is internationally known as an innovative science and technology
training center.  The Omniplex has more than  50,000 square feet of
exhibition space with over 200 arts and science exhibits.  The Omniplex
is located in the Kirkpatrick Center at 2100 NE 52nd Oklahoma City
(About 50th and Eastern, adjacent to the Oklahoma City Zoo).

  The Oklahoma City Apple User's Group was founded in 1977 and is one of
the oldest Apple clubs in the nation.  The club has a very active and
enthusiastic membership and is currently growing at the rate of 30 new
members per month.  The club membership represents a broad cross-
section of Apple Users from high school students to retired university
professors, beginning Apple users to experienced Apple pioneers.  For
