[net.micro.mac] Problems with Laserwriter file 3.1

hylas@ecsvax.UUCP (Andy R. Bobyarchick) (07/06/86)

Laserwriter driver version 3.1 (and Laserprep 3.1) seems to be
incompatible with our Laserwriter+. With the new system/finder and
using LW3.1, any time I try to print on the LW+ I get this message:

"Error:Undefined:Offending Command:bdf".

Then I get a note about Postscript errors and a bomb. Sometimes
the error message above has "lsf" instead of bdf.

Printing works perfectly with the new system/finder and LW3.0.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

All the time... For some strange reason the Mac isn't remembering I have
Apple Talk connected after I turn it off. So when I turn it back on, I have
to reset AppleTalk on the control panel. At which point if I don't do a
shutdown or a reset and try to use the LW, I get the preciously mentioned
Error;Undefined;Offending Command... crap.

My work around (if you can call it that)

1: set apple talk connected via control panel
2: Use Chooser, select IW then reselect LW
3: shutdown through finder special menu
4: go for it...

Pain in the rear if you ask me...

BTW: I'm using System 3.2, Finder 5.3, and LW3.1...
