[net.micro.mac] Travelling with a Mac, IWriterII's in Europe

richard@log-hb.UUCP (Richard S. Kaufmann) (07/31/86)

I just came back from the US, and hauled my Imagewriter II to Sweden.
Some of you may remember that the US version of the IWII is not supposed
to work at 50Hz. I called up an outfit here in Sweden, and they offered
to help out if I had a problem. Based on this friendly offer, I decided
it would be worth the gamble to bring it over. (I packed it in an igloo
cooler wrapped in T-Shirts.)

To make a short story shorter, it works. I didn't have to touch a thing.
I've been using it for two weeks, and heavily, without any problem. Remember,
I have the printer, Mac+ and DataFrame20 powered through a 230VA half-
transformer.

I'll be using it between now and November, and I promise to post again
if there are any problems.
