A friend of mine in Alaska asked me to put this out on the net in the hope
that some kind soul would come to his rescue (are you listening Apple?).
His group where he works is trying to get output from their Burroughs to
an Apple LW in "special" mode (Diablo 630 mode, he says). The first page
prints just fine, but after that the page alignment seems to be off by about
1/2 a page -- the top of a page is on the bottom half of the paper, with the
bottom half on the top of the next paper. Their software works with a Canon
in Diablo 630 mode, but won't work with the Apple LW.
The Apple staff in their neck of the woods has been...ah, let's just say
"less than helpful." My friend had some interesting terms for them, along the
lines of "invertebrate slime" and "brainless lemmings." He tried calling
Apple HQ, but, of course, got the recurring line "you should talk to your
local Apple representative."
So, does anyone out there have any ideas? Contacts? Really big firearms?
And, if you are in Alaska, are you anywhere near Soldotna?
