I have seen a few of the hard disks on the market appear on the desktop on their own even when a floppy is used as the startup. I have a hard drive from a local company that does not do this. I would like to write code so that my disk will also appear on the desktop. Does anybody have an idea on how this is done. I have read most of the available info and now believe that these disks have their systems altered (maybe an INIT that mounts the available volumes ). Does anybody have any idea how most people do this? Should my drive already do this? Please mail responses and I will summarize if there is a lot of interest.
