For those of you reading this in net.misc who have not been reading net.singles: This question of celibacy and chastity is in regards to their "correct" definitions. One of my English instructors in college made it a point to tell us that the patent on Noah Webster's original English dictionary expired a LONG time ago, and that any dictionary may now call itself Webster's dictionary with perfect impunity. That's why there are so many of them running around loose these days; to most people, the name "Webster" on a dictionary lends weight and credibility. My reason for putting this in net.misc as well as net.singles, and my question for all you out there in net.land, is: What dictionary do YOU prefer? Why?
