I am having trouble getting my Scsi disk to boot and wondered if someone might have some advice. My hardware is a MacPlus with an Adaptec ACB 4000A Scsi controller and a Seagate 19Mb disk. I have written on the disk the device descriptor and device partition maps in blocks 0 and 1 and the sample Scsi driver to blocks 2 through 5, as per the software supplement. The main partition contains a useable HFS volume. When I push the boot button, I can see it read [what I guess is] the ddm and dpm, and, after a moment, the driver. After this the ? within the floppy icon flashes and I must insert a bootable floppy. With the floppy in, the folders for floppy come up, and then the Scsi drive gets mounted and runs fine. I can "option-clover" open the finder on the Scsi disk and use it as the startup volume after this. This indicates that everything is going ok and that the "accrun" control is working as expected, except that either (1) it is unable to "mount" the Scsi drive at boot time, or (2) it can't find the system file on the Scsi drive. As far as the system file goes, I have tried putting it [and the finder] at top level on the Scsi drive without any change. I have verified that (1) I am getting all the way through "realinstall" at boot time without errors. (2) an eject control is being given to the driver at boot time, indicate difficulty on the rom's part. I am stumped, any advice would help, even the address in the rom of the code that does the boot so I can have a look at what it expects. Any suggestions on what to try?
