I am contemplating the purchase of my first vacuum cleaner. Since we have no net.vc or net.appliance I am posting this request here. Would anyone care to comment on the following? What I am looking for is a machine which is reliable, quiet, and long-lived. The smaller sears cannisters are reasonably reliable and seem to be lon-lived ( > 3 years ) but they are noisY! They seem subjectively to be in the 95+ db range. Please reply to hou5a!mat. hou5a is on most of the hou5x? machines, as well as harpo, npois, npoiv, and a couple of others. hou5a!mat
