Anyone read about the doll that was marketed recently that cried and said "Kill mommy"? Seems that, after some QUICK investigation by its manufacturer, it was found that the doll should say "Kim loves mommy". But it has a speed adjustment switch on it so you can keep the voice sounding right as the battery runs down. If, however, you set the speed adjustment high with a new battery in it, it runs the phrase together and comes out with a very clear "Kill mommy". Parents were understandably upset, but no deaths have been reported at this time. (Except maybe heart attacks among competitors brought on by hysterical laughter!!) The version I heard (on a local news program in Boston, with a similar explana explanation given in an Orlandao, FL broadcast) is that the doll is actually supposed to be speaking in a foreign language (Spanish, I think), being a rush-job import to make Christmas $$$, but that the foreign phrase is so garbled as to be unintelligible, and easily mistaken for "Kill mommy".
