not too long ago, I felt reason to flame against a poster trying to sell his used Mac at exorbitant prices (also because he did not limit the distribution of his message) - and in that connection the Boston Computer Exchange prices were brought up, which seemed to be totally unrealistic to me also. I hope you find the following interesting ... The Sep 25 issue of Computer+Software News (a micro trade rag) lists BoCoEx prices for Macs as follows: (they keep track of historic highs and lows) 128K Mac $1,050 (high-$1,500, low-$700) 512K Mac $1,300 (high-$1,500, low-$1,200) Mac+ $1,950 (high-$1,960, low-$1,925) also Apple IIe $850 (1,200/500) Apple IIc $800 (950/600) Apple + $500 (500/300) New High !!! ------------------------- local ComputerCraft has a sale until Oct 31: (and they still may be trying to generate cash to avoid a collapse) Mac+ - $1,899 Mac512kE - $1,499 Apple IIe - $1,199 Apple IIc $999 (the IIs include drive, color monitor, stand, some software) they demo the GS, without giving a price in the ad -------------------------- the University Consortium store prices here are: Mac+ - $1,399 Mac512kE - $1,049 -------------------------- I was offered a used 128k with a third-party 512k upgrade for $750 this week. I can get it for less, probably .... -------------------------- isn't that interesting to compare ? PS: Apple's current list prices are: Mac+ $2,199, 512kE $1,699, IIe $1,6333, IIc $1,249
